A Favorite Treat

Who said popsicles were only for hot summer weather? Drew and Ansley's new favorite snack of choice is a popsicle. Drew loves the home-made apple juice popsicles (why wouldn't he? he has nothing else to compare them to). Ansley eats those some nights - just to 'be like Drew.' (She even insists on the same colored popsicle stick as Drew). But, when there are popsicles from the grocery store, she usually chooses those. Tonight they ate them while taking a bath. Makes for an easy clean-up!!!

Ouch!

I was just thinking yesterday - it's been pretty uneventful with my kids lately - what am I going to write about on the blog? Could have done without this one!

We always joke that Ansley is an 'accident waiting to happen.' It just seems if someone is going to get hurt, it's going to be her. Partly because she has one speed - FAST! Well, yesterday was one of the biggest 'accidents' that she has had. She was riding her bike home from the playground with Matt and her friend, Sydney. There was a place on the sidewalk where the street drain (a big cement square - I don't know what you really call it) meets the sidewalk. She was riding pretty fast (which is nothing new) and the wheel caught right in that crack. Off she flew! Matt thought for sure when he picked her up that she would have broken her cheek or jaw bone since her face is what hit first. Thankfully, she just had some scrapes on her face and a bloody lip. This morning she still looks pretty rough though. She will have quite the story to tell at school today. Speaking of school - wouldn't you know it - school pictures are Thursday . . .

Up, Up He Goes!

At 14 months - he finally did it! Still not walking, but he made it all the way up the stairs for the first time this morning. I saw him climb up the first one and told Ansley - "Let's see what happens." Ansley climbed up a few stairs in front of him to coax him along. I figured he might make it up two or three steps - wrong - all the way to the top! Now, thanks to this blog, I will have it documented on exactly what date he first climbed up the stairs.
(I apologize for the quality of the video - not sure what happened. Anyone with a blog that can help, I welcome your advice!)

Happy Halloween!

I have pondered the idea of starting a blog for many months now. It seemed like too much to keep up with, I wouldn't know how to do it, etc. - I had every excuse in the book. The longer I sit back and watch, more and more of my friends now have their own blogs, too. So . . . it's time. (Thank you to all of you over-achievers out there who got me motivated.) And, what a better time to start than with Halloween events.

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. Ansley was a Clemson cheerleader, so Drew had no choice but to wear his jersey and be the football player. Ansley had a blast this year - and was thrilled to be able to get candy for Drew, knowing full-well that he couldn't eat any of it (which meant it was coming her way, or so she hoped). Drew was clueless as to what was going on - he just smiled as he held his football and rode around in the stroller all night.

Ansley was thrilled that she was able to trick-or-treat with her new friends across the street. The three of them were so cute - if a house had any 'spooky' music playing or weird looking lights - forget it, they moved on to the next house.

At the end of the night, Drew had his first-ever lollipop! He loved it, but had red drool everywhere.

It's amazing how much more fun Halloween becomes when seeing it through the eyes of two little ones!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
